About the Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild
A community of makers who love modern quilting, creativity and connection
Our Mission
The Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild is a community of makers who come together to learn, create, and support one another. We celebrate modern quilting through shared creativity, hands‑on education, and meaningful outreach that strengthens our local community.
Our Story
TulsaMQG began in 2010 when four quilters met at a local coffee shop with a shared love of modern quilting. What started as a small gathering has grown into a vibrant community of more than 100 members, with 50–60 attending our monthly meetings.
Today, our guild is a place where creativity, learning, and connection come together. We host sew days, retreats, workshops, challenges, swaps, and community projects that bring members closer and support our mission. Whether you’re new to quilting or have years of experience, you’ll find a welcoming community here.
What Modern Quilting Means to US
Modern quilting blends traditional craftsmanship with fresh, contemporary design. It often features bold colors, graphic shapes, negative space, improvisation, and innovative techniques. Our guild celebrates this creativity by encouraging experimentation, learning, and personal expression.
Whether you love minimalist designs, bold color play, or improvisational piecing, you’ll find inspiration and support here.
