Community Projects and Outreach
Common Thread club at Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences (TSAS)
TSAS's Common Thread was founded in 2007 as a forum for TSAS students to teach one another knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Members and crafts fluctuated yearly, but maintained a pattern of older students teaching younger students. The pandemic "broke the thread" for a time: post-pandemic attendance was low, and the older students who would typically teach the younger ones had graduated before passing on their knowledge. They are now rebuilding with a fully new group of younger students.
They will take donations of fabric, batting, and machine thread, as well as, yarn and knitting/crochet supplies (no looms, please).
If you would like to donate any of the items requested above, please email TulsaModernQuilts@gmail.com to schedule.
